Hi! I’m Philippa. I play the tenor horn with the Sumner Silver Band.

The piano has been my instrument since childhood. I was introduced to “brass” instruments in 2013 when I was cajoled into learning to play the French Horn. Orchestral playing followed in 2014. The tenor horn came my way in 2016 at which time I became a Sumner Band member. Quietly, I also have a trumpet in my wardrobe of instruments which one day, I would dearly like to play.

Other than music, time is given to my vege garden, playing both Bridge and golf and when I can, to reading. In a past life I sailed extensively about and around New Zealand. I have also spent long periods tramping our wonderful backcountry.

I have two daughters and four lovely grandchildren.
