Anzac Day Service - 25th April 2024

Sumner Silver Band were proud to once again play at the Sumner/Redcliffs RSA Anzac Day service, held at the RSA Memorial Gates in Wakefield Avenue, Sumner.

In addition to accompanying the hymns during the formal part of the service, the band also played selections of music before and after the service to entertain the many local people who had turned out to remember those who served New Zealand in conflicts dating back to the South African wars in the 19th and early 20th centuries, many playing the supreme sacrifice for their country.

The band’s principal corner player, Chris Hollis-Locke, played the Last Post and Rouse.
