New for 2023 - Sumner Auxiliary Band

2023 is starting with a bang for Sumner Silver Band!

The big news is that we have formed not one but two Auxiliary Bands, one for adults and one for young people! Our auxiliary bands are ensembles for those who are new to brass playing, or for those who are returning to it after a break and want to ease themselves back in gently before joining the full band.

Each of the auxiliary bands has a group learning session prior to the main band practice on Thursday evening, with the adults staying on to play a few hymns (the standard brass band warm up!) with the main band.

We do have a selection of instruments available for loan, so if you’re interested in starting your brass journey (or returning to it) please get in touch
