Sumner Village Green Opening - 30th November 2024

Sumner suffered a great deal of damage during the earthquake sequence of 2010/11, but since those dark days the rebuild and restoration of the township has progressed steadily and is still ongoing.

Last Saturday saw the inauguration of an important new facility in Sumner - the Village Green and skateboard park.

As the local brass band, Sumner Silver Band was honoured to be asked to play at the official opening of the site. We look forward to many performances on this beautiful site in the coming years.
