Windsorcare Village and Edith Cavel Lifecare – Thursday 19th December

For many folk Christmas without traditional carols is unthinkable, and each year as part of their schedule most brass bands schedule some time visiting hospitals and care homes to perform festive music to some of those who are unable to get out and about to hear them elsewhere.

The band at Edith Cavel Lifecare, Sumner

Sumner Silver Band took large ensembles to the Windsorcare Village in Shirley and Edith Cavel Lifecare in Sumner to play a selection of Christmas carols.  A feature of both of these playouts was the gusto with which the audience joined in and sang the carols.  The words of these carols are set in memories that go back many decades to our childhoods, meaning that often songsheets are superfluous.
